For grown-ups
Recycle Friends is a gentle world where young children explore, care for little characters, and learn — at their own pace, with no pressure and no way to "lose". This page is the plain-language version of how it's built and what you're in control of.
Who it's for
It's designed for 4–6 year-olds (and works happily either side of that). There are no timers, scores, or fail states — neglect just pauses a moment, it never punishes. A child can put it down and pick it up whenever they like.
What it does not do
- No third-party advertising, and no ads shown to your child.
- No behavioural profiling, and no tracking across other apps or sites.
- We don't sell, rent, or trade data for advertising.
- No chat, no social features, and no open web browsing inside play.
- No push notifications — the app doesn't pester you or your child.
What you're in control of
- A parental gate
- Purchases, external links, and grown-up settings sit behind a simple task a young child can't complete by accident. It runs on the device and collects nothing.
- Sound & visuals
- Separate volume controls for voices, effects, and music, plus a graphics-quality setting for smoother play on older devices.
- Diagnostics
- On by default to help us fix crashes and improve the app, and you can switch it off completely at any time in the grown-up settings.
About diagnostics
To find bugs and understand which parts of the app are used, we collect limited diagnostics and usage statistics. None of it identifies your child — no name, no contact details, no location, no advertising ID. The full detail is in our Privacy Policy.
Purchases & subscription
There's a free experience to explore, with an optional premium subscription that opens up more of the library. Any purchase is handled entirely by your app store and sits behind the parental gate, so it can't happen by accident. You manage or cancel a subscription in your Google Play or Apple account.
Offline & downloads
Once content has downloaded, the core experience works offline. Downloads (videos, storybooks, songs) are stored in the app's own space on the device so they play smoothly without re-downloading; the app does not read your other files.
